In LMP2, 4 Hours of Le Castellet winners Inter Europol Competition leapt to the top spot with the no43 Oreca leading with total of 33 points from the first two races. The chasing pack of five cars is split by just 5 points, led by the no22 United Autosports on 26 points, Round 1 winners no37 COOL Racing in third on 25 points and tied on points with IDEC Sport.Reigning champions Algarve Pro Racing are fifth on 24 points and AO by TF has 21 points.
After finishing second in Barcelona and first in Le Castellet, the no29 Richard Mille by TDS Oreca heads the LMP2 Pro/Am standing with 43 points, six ahead of reigning champions and Round 1 winners AF Corse. After two pole positions from two starts and a second place finish in Le Castellet, Proton Competition head to Imola with 30 points, five ahead of the no24 Nielsen Racing Oreca.
A perfect 26 points from Round 2 in Le Castellet propelled the no15 RLR MSport Ligier into first place on 38 points, seven points ahead of Round 1 winners Team Virage. Reigning Champions COOL Racing are third on 29 points, just one ahead of DKR Engineering on 28 points and two points ahead of Eurointernational, who are on 27 points.
Spirit of Race returned to the top step of the podium for the first time since 2021 at the end of the 4 Hours of Le Castellet and lead the championship table with 35 points. The no63 Iron Lynx Lamborghini is in second place after two podium finishes in the first two races, trailing the no55 Ferrari by just two points on 33 points. GR Racing are third on 28 points, just 1 point ahead of Round 1 winners Formula Racing. The no59 Racing Spirit of Leman Aston Martin is fifth with 23 points after finishing third in Le Castellet.
Round 3 of the 2024 European Le Mans Series will be the 4 Hours of Imola in Italy on 5-7 July. Before that some of the teams and drivers will be heading to France to compete in the 92nd edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans (14-16 June).
