After over two months away, the European Le Mans Series returns with Round 2 of the 2023 season, the 4 Hours of Le Castellet on the 14-16 July. The Top 3 championship standings in each of the four classes after the opening round in Barcelona is as follows.
LMP2: The no30 Duqueine Team Oreca-Gibson of Nico Pino, Rene Binder and Neel Jani is leading the category with 25 points, 7 points ahead of the no65 Panis Racing Oreca of Job Van Uitert, Manuel Maldonado and Tijmen Van Der Helm, with the no28 IDEC Racing Oreca of Laurents Hörr, Paul Loup Chatin and Paul Lafargue on 15 points.
LMP2 Pro-Am: An overall victory from Pole Position at the 4 Hours of Barcelona has put Racing Team Turkey at the head of the LMP2 Pro-Am standings with 26 points and on 25 points at the head of the ELMS Overall Team Trophy. Salih Yoluc, Charlie Eastwood and Louis Deletraz head the driver standings.
The no83 AF Corse Oreca of Francois Perrodo, Matthieu Vaxiviere and Ben Barnicoat are second in the LMP2 Pro-Am standings on 18 points, with Alexandre Coigny, Malthe Jakobsen and Nico Lapierre in third place on 15-points in the no37 COOL Racing Oreca.
LMP3: COOL Racing head the LMP3 standings with the no17 Ligier-Nissan of Adrien Chila, Alejandro Garcia and Marcos Siebert taking a maximum 26-points in Spain after the no31 Racing Spirit of Leman Ligier was given a 103s post-race penalty, dropping the Swiss team to third.
Kai Askey, Miguel Cristovao and Wyatt Brichacek head to Le Castellet on 18-points in the no13 Inter Europol Competition Ligier, with the penalised no31 Racing Spirit of Leman of Antoine Doquin, Fabien Michal and Jacques Wolff on 15 points in 3rd.
LMGTE: The no16 Proton Competition heads to Le Castellet as the championship leader in the LMGTE category with Alessio Picariello, Ryan Hardwick and Zac Robichon scoring 25-points in Spain.
The no50 Formula Racing Ferrari of Johnny Laursen, Mikkel Mac and Conrad Laursen is 7 points behind on 18 points, with the no66 JMW Motorsport Ferrari of Jon Lancaster, Lorcan Hanafin and Martin Berry on 16 points, thanks to the point for pole position in addition to the 15 for finishing third.
