After the first two races of the 2025 European Le Mans Series, two teams have had the perfect start to season.
Former ELMS champions IDEC Sport have made a great start with the no18 Oreca-Gibson winning in Barcelona and at home in Le Castellet. Jamie Chadwick, Daniel Juncadella and Mathys Jaubert are currently leading on 50 points, 23 points ahead of second placed Pietro Fittipaldi, Ryan Cullen and Vlad Lomko in the no10 Vector Sport on 27 points, with the third placed VDS by Panis Racing of Charles Milesi, Esteban Masson and Oliver Gray on 26 points.
Just two points split the top three teams and drivers in LMP2 Pro/Am. 4 Hours of Le Castellet class winners Tony Wells, James Allen and Sergio Sette Camara lead the standings by a single point, with a total of 31 points from the first two races in the no27 Nielsen Racing Oreca.
Clément Novalak, Mathias Beche and Rodrigo Sales have 30 points in the no29 TDS Racing after securing two third place finishes in Barcelona and Le Castellet, while 4 Hours of Barcelona outright winners Francois Perrodo and Matthieu Vaxiviere are on 29 points in the no83 AF Corse Oreca.
CLX Motorsport have also made it two from two in the LMP3 category but also, unlike IDEC Sport in LMP2, the Swiss team took both wins from pole position. This means Adrien Closmenil, Paul Lanchere and Theodor Jensen have the perfect 52 points from the first two races and are 22 points ahead of Quentin Antonel and Stéphane Tribaudini in the no68 M Racing Ligier-Toyota on 30 points.
In third place after two races is the no88 Inter Europol Competition Ligier-Toyota with Douwe Dedecker, Reece Gold and Tim Creswick on 27 points.
4 Hours of Barcelona LMGT3 winners Celia Martin, Michelle Gatting and Sarah Bovy are still at the head of the class standings on 31 points after finishing in a disappointing 7th in Le Castellet in the no85 Iron Dames Porsche. Le Castellet winners Lilou Wadoux, Riccardo Agostini and Custodio Toledo leapt up the standings and are now second on 27 points in the no50 Richard Mille AF Corse Ferrari.
After two fourth place finishes in the opening two races of the 2025 season David Perel, Duncan Cameron and Matt Griffin are lying in third in the LMGT3 standings with 24 points in the no55 Spirit of Race Ferrari.
Round 3 of the 2025 European Le Mans Series will be the 4 Hours of Imola in Italy, which will take place on Sunday 6 July. But before that, eighteen ELMS teams will gather in France to take part in the 93rd edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans on 14/15 June.
