The LMP3 grid for the 2025 European Le Mans Series features ten cars with the only British team being the reigning champions RLR MSport, with Tim Creswick being the only British driver taking part in the junior Le Mans Prototype category.
Creswick is racing with Polish team Inter Europol Competition and, along with his teammates American Reece Gold and Belgium’s Douwe Dedecker, is currently lying in second place in the championship standings following two podium finishes in Barcelona and at Spa-Francorchamps.
So, when did Tim Creswick last race at Silverstone?“I was there in 2022 in a GT4, GT Cup race, a kind of entry level UK championship. I also did the Porsche Sprint Cup Challenge race on the full circuit, in a GT4 car. We tested there recently in the LMP3 car, and it was pretty good fun. The circuit definitely comes alive in a downforce car; it's like it's two different tracks.”
“I actually just like it all, but the high-speed corners are a lot of fun,” Creswick continued when asked which part of the track he liked the best. “Turn one in a fast down force car is just a lot of fun. I always think of Silverstone is like kind of three circuit joined together and separated by those long straights. So, I like all of it; I think it's good fun.”
It must be nice as a British driver to be racing at home, not having to fly to a race? “Although for me it's still two hours from home in London, I still need to overnight in a hotel, it's super cool for me and it's special. Before I was racing, I did track days at Silverstone. My first ever race was an all-comers Walter Hayes race at Silverstone in November.
“The first time I ever attended an endurance race was also at Silverstone and that was the first time I ever actually went to a live race,” he continued. “It never even occurred to me that I would be racing, let alone racing at Silverstone, in a prototype. So, I think prototypes back at Silverstone for me is really special, even if we've raced on lots of special tracks.”
