The second and final 90-minute Free Practice session for the 10th edition of the 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps saw Algarve Pro Racing once again top the timing screens. However, this time it was the no25 Oreca that set the pace, with Théo Pourchaire’s best time of 2m01.369, two tenths slower than the best time set in FP1 yesterday by Alex Quinn in the no20 APR Oreca-Gibson.
Second fastest was the no30 Duqueine Team with Reshad de Gérus lapping the 7km circuit in 2m01.555, 0.186s behind the lead car and just 0.008s ahead of the no18 IDEC Sport of Daniel Juncadella. Championship leaders VDS Panis Racing finished in 9th overall and 7th in LMP2 after Esteban Masson set the cars best lap of 2m02.245, 0.8 seconds behind the lead car.
The leading car in LMP2 Pro/Am was the no3 DKR Engineering after Thomas Laurent posted a 2m01.738 which was good enough for 6thoverall. The no20 Algarve Pro Racing was second quickest in LMP2 Pro/Am with Alex Quinn setting a 2m02.137, 0.399s behind DKR, with the championship leading no99 AO by TF of Dane Cameron finishing the session in third place.
The LMP3 field was headed by the championship leading no17 CLX Motorsport Ligier, with Theo Jensen setting a 2m13.153, just 0.049s ahead of the no11 Eurointernational Ligier of Ian Aguilera and 0.138s ahead of the no12 WTM by Rinaldi Racing Duqueine driven by Griffin Peebles.
The no23 United Autosports McLaren went quickest for the second time to head the timings in LMGT3.Garnet Patterson set a 2m17.922 which was 0.059s faster than teammate Wayne Boyd’s best lap in FP1. The Australian was also 0.114s ahead of the second placed car, the no59 Racing Spirit of Léman Aston Martin, with Valentin Hasse-Clot posting the best lap of 2m18.036, just 0.065s ahead of the no60 Proton Competition Porsche driven by Alessio Picariello.
Qualifying for the 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps will take place this afternoon with LMGT3 qualifying starting at 12h30 CEST.
