Nielsen Racing announces the signing of Filipe Albuquerque for the 2025 European Le Mans Series season. Filipe will race the #24 Oreca 07 in the team’s full Pro entry, partnering with returning driver Ferdinand Habsburg. The duo of Albuquerque and Habsburg positions the team for a fierce push toward victories and the championship crown.
Albuquerque’s return to the ELMS marks a significant milestone, reuniting him with the series where he captured both the overall and LMP2 titles in 2020. In addition to the ELMS title, the Portuguese driver also secured the FIA WEC and 24 Hours Le Mans LMP2 crowns in the same season, the only time that feat has ever been achieved.
Widely regarded as a specialist in prototype racing, Filipe boasts an outstanding track record across Europe and the United States, earning multiple wins and championship finishes at prestigious endurance events. His expertise will be a key asset for Nielsen Racing as they look to elevate their competitive performance.
Filipe said: "I am super happy to join Nielsen Racing, the team is really motivated and they are putting a lot of effort to be the benchmark in 2025. Joining Ferdinand Habsburg, he won the ELMS in past as well, so I think that is enough to make us a strong candidate to the tittle. I love all the tracks of the ELMS calendar, so I just can’t wait to get it going."
