IDEC SPORT unveils its livery for the 2025 season, based on its historic colors: red and black for the #28 car. The #18 car shares the same design, with the orange Genesis Magma Racing.
Car #28, driven by Paul Lafargue, Paul-Loup Chatin, and Job Van Uitert, returns to its black base, highlighted by the red of IDEC SPORT, along with a chrome roof.
For the design, IDEC SPORT aimed to combine modernity with history. As driver Paul Lafargue, who has been heavily involved in the car's design, explains:
"We worked again with Studio 7982, who did the livery in 2022. We wanted to bring back our colours and remember our history, inspired by the cars from 2018 and 2021. But we also wanted it to feel fresh for this 10th anniversary year of IDEC SPORT," explains the silver driver. "It's sentimental for me, these are the colors of the IDEC group and IDEC SPORT. I've always raced with a bit of red. We’re starting to build a history, and we’re showcasing it. The design also had to work with the second car and its orange."
Car #18 features the same design but is adorned with the orange of Genesis Magma Racing. The orange represents the colour of molten magma. The sides and nose of the car are marked with the GMR logo. The rear wing and doors display the full name "Genesis Magma Racing."
"I like the design. Plus, these are the colours I used in karting. I can't wait to race with it. We need to find our bearings and see where we stand compared to the other teams. From my side, I want to see how I measure up against the best drivers. I’ll focus on working on my pace, especially with cold tires. We'll also focus on traffic management, which is a key point in ELMS," explains Mathys Jaubert, ready to compete in his first LMP2 race.
Nicolas Minassian, IDEC SPORT Team Principal: "Winter went by quickly once again! I’m really excited to start this new season. Two LMP2 cars, new drivers, and partners—there’s a lot of investment, so we’ve been working hard to be ready. Barcelona is a challenging circuit with tire degradation, so strategy will be very important. As for the goals for the first race, I prefer to stay humble. A top 5 would be a good start, as the championship is very competitive. It’s up to us to have a solid race, both drivers and the team, with no mistakes. From there, we’ll be in a good position to score big points in the championship. I have real confidence in both the team and the drivers across both cars. Everyone is motivated to perform at their best. Vamos a Barcelona!"
Both crews will take to the track with their new colours on Monday in Barcelona for the prologue of the 2025 season.
