Coming from a positive two-day prologue, Iron Lynx will move past this week's overcast skies to hopefully return to warm and sunny conditions for the ELMS race weekend. The #9 LMP2 Oreca and the brand-new #63 Mercedes-AMG LMGT3 will begin their European journey with Free Practice on Friday.
Martin Berry, Lorcan Hanafin, and Fabian Schiller are looking to build on the outstanding chemistry they found so far in testing. A stellar trio has formed, and while it's not going to be easy to line up for the first time with a new package, the goal is to put everything together as much as possible ahead of Sunday's 4-hour race.
Continuity is the main attack weapon for the #9 crew featuring Jonas Ried, Maceo Capietto, and Matteo Cairoli. Mastering the super competitive LMP2 field, which keeps evolving and improving year by year, will be a challenge, but the potential is there and consistency, in addition to pure performance, will be key.
Andrea Piccini - Team Principal & CEO: "We cannot wait to start the season in a race setting after the positive work we did in the prologue. Last year, consistency was the key to becoming Champion, and starting a new project, we are aiming to grow step by step and maximize everything we possibly can in every race. I also look forward to seeing Matteo and Gregorio make their prototype debut, and I'm confident they will be able to make a smooth transition."
